Have a Bachelor’s in another field? Make the change to a career in nursing and earn an MSN from one of our direct entry MSN programs!
Sometimes called entry-level MSNs, accelerated MSNs, or alternative-entry MSNs, direct entry MSN programs are accelerated graduate nursing programs designed for those who hold a bachelor’s degree in another field.
A direct entry MSN will also prepare you to take the NCLEX-RN licensure examination.
Enter nursing with an MSN in as few as 18 to 20 months of study—just a few months longer than you would spend earning an accelerated BSN.
Develop patient care, research and leadership skills that extend beyond BSN level—skills employers value.
Set yourself up to pursue training in an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) specialty, such as a nurse practitioner, mid-wife, nurse anesthetist, after you graduate.
To apply to a direct entry/entry-level MSN program, you will need a bachelor’s degree in any field from an accredited college or university.
Additional requirements will vary, but typically include:
A minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
Transcripts from all previous undergraduate institutions
Background check
Prerequisite science courses such as human anatomy, microbiology, chemistry, psychology and statistics
